Her innovative compositions communicate a southerner’s love of the land and the reciprocal exchange that exists between man and nature.  Her highly imaginative approach – an almost religious attachment to the soil – symbolizes the sowing, plowing, and harvesting functions that embody a continuum of life.

Four or five large paintings are representational and deal with figuration and landscape.  Surprisingly enough, the most exciting of these are by three younger painters.  Susanne Vincent has a new twist on a Texas landscape with her close up studies of longhorns milling under an expansive black sky.
